2026 General Election Voter Guide Now Available

The 2026 General Election is approaching, and Hawaii Family Forum is pleased to make our 2026 Non-Partisan General Election Voter Guide available to voters across our state.

For the General Election, we have expanded our guide to include candidates for U.S. Congress, Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State Senate, and State House of Representatives. Our goal is simple: to give Hawaiʻi voters information they can use to learn more about the candidates and make their own informed decisions before casting their ballots. The state guide covers candidates for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, State Senate and State House, while a separate federal guide covers candidates for Hawaiʻi’s two seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Every candidate was given an equal opportunity to participate.

We believe fairness and transparency are important. Candidates appearing in the guide were invited to participate in our survey, and we made separate attempts to reach candidates who had not responded, giving them opportunities to share their positions directly with voters.

For our state races, candidates were asked to indicate whether they Agree, Disagree, or are Undecided on 21 policy statements covering Life & Family Health, Parental Rights & Education, Religious Liberty, Strengthening Families, Community & Public Safety, and Government Accountability & Reform. They were also given two opportunities to answer questions in their own words.

Our congressional survey takes a different approach. Candidates for Hawaiʻi’s two U.S. House districts were asked seven questions addressing issues within the federal sphere, including religious freedom, protection of human life, parental rights, women’s sports and Title IX, federal spending and the national debt, the federal government’s role in strengthening families, and their top policy priorities if elected.

What if a candidate did not respond?

We believe that information is useful to voters, too. Rather than leaving nonresponding candidates out of the guide, we identify them as “Did Not Respond to Survey” and, where available, provide contact information from their official candidate filing. That gives voters the opportunity to contact candidates directly and respectfully ask where they stand.

Just as importantly, the answers you read belong to the candidates themselves. Hawaii Family Forum has not edited, rewritten, or fact-checked candidate responses, other than making formatting changes necessary for publication.

Hawaii Family Forum does not endorse or oppose any candidate or political party. Our voter guide is provided solely for voter education, allowing citizens to compare candidate responses in a consistent format.
