Community Engagement is Growing Across Hawaiʻi
April 18, 2026
Over the past 90 days, we’ve seen a meaningful increase in community engagement as more individuals across Hawaiʻi are stepping forward to make their voices heard on issues impacting faith, family, and the future of our islands.
Our network has now grown to over 6,100 contacts, with more than 3,000 active advocates engaged in the work. Even more encouraging, 65 new contacts and 23 new advocates joined during this recent period—clear evidence that the message is reaching new hearts and minds.
But growth is not just in numbers—it’s in action.
During this time, community members took 314 advocacy actions, a significant increase from less than a hundred in the previous period. This reflects a rising willingness among people of faith to engage thoughtfully and respond when it matters most.
What People Are Speaking Up About
The issues that prompted the strongest response reflect the concerns we are hearing across our communities:
- Protecting keiki from harmful medical interventions
- Preserving the freedom to pray in public spaces
- Addressing the expansion of gambling through prediction markets
- Safeguarding end-of-life decision-making
- Concerns over marijuana expansion
These are not just policy debates—they are deeply personal issues that impact families, values, and the culture of Hawaiʻi.
Engagement That Leads to Action
Our advocacy campaigns are not just being seen—they are prompting real responses. Some of our recent calls to action saw engagement rates of 2–3%, which is a strong indicator that people are not only informed, but motivated to act.
We are also grateful for a core group of highly engaged individuals who continue to lead by example—taking multiple actions and helping to amplify the voice of the broader community.
A Growing Movement
Perhaps most encouraging is this: every recorded advocacy action came from right here in Hawaiʻi.
This is a local movement—neighbors, families, and community members choosing to stay informed and engaged.
Why This Matters
In a time when many feel disconnected from the legislative process, this growing level of engagement shows that people are still willing to step forward—with respect, conviction, and aloha—to participate in shaping the future of our state.
And that is exactly what this work is about: equipping and encouraging everyday citizens to understand the issues and make their voices heard.
