Hawaii Family Forum Joins Call for Stronger Abortion Drug Safeguards

September 23, 2026 | Hawaii Family Forum has joined pro-life organizations and leaders nationwide in signing a joint statement urging stronger safeguards for the abortion drug mifepristone. Eva Andrade, our President & CEO, signed on behalf of Hawaii Family Forum.
The statement calls on Dr. Heidi Overton, identified in the letter as the nominee for FDA Commissioner, and the Trump administration to restore safeguards that existed before the Biden administration while the FDA completes its review of the drug.
Signers raise concerns about women’s safety, the potential for coercion and abuse, and the distribution of abortion drugs by mail across state lines. The statement also urges senators to seek clear answers during Overton’s confirmation hearing about medical oversight and how the FDA would address these concerns.
Our support reflects Hawaii Family Forum’s commitment to protecting unborn children and the well-being of their mothers. Women and families deserve policies that uphold the dignity and value of every human life.
