Prioritizing the Safety & Well-Being of Women
May 14, 2025
A coalition of over 100 organizations, including Hawaii Family Forum, has come together to urge Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Commissioner Martin A. Makary to prioritize the safety and well-being of American women by addressing the dangers of mifepristone, a drug used in chemical abortions. The letter highlights alarming data showing that nearly 11% of women who take mifepristone experience serious adverse events, such as sepsis, infection, or hemorrhage, within 45 days. The signatories call on the FDA to reinstate critical protections for women, including in-person medical evaluations and follow-ups, to ensure their health and safety. This united effort emphasizes the need to put science and public health above politics. #ProtectWomen #HealthSafety #FDA
